According to the United States Census Bureau, 2003 Statistical Abstract of the United States, tables 79-82, of the almost 208 million people in the United States, over 159.5 million are professed Christians, whereas over 29.4 million specified no religion (ncludes atheists and agnostics), 11.2 million refused to answer and over 7.7 million are of other religions. If the figures above are true, and we believe they are, why are we as Christians allowing Christianity to be banned from public places in the United States. Where are our voices? Why are we being silent while the minority of Americans are taking our Christian rights away? We have heard so many stories in the news lately of certain sources not wanting Christmas carols that are religious in nature sung in public places (i.e., Ban on Christmas carols sparks debate, CNN, 12/22/04 and Schools Tune Out Christmas Songs, FoxNews, 12/23/04). Oh, give us a break! Since when are Christians afraid to stand up and proclaim they are Christians? I'll tell you - when the American public began solely relying on the news media to give them information about happenings in their neighborhood instead of opening their eyes and seeing it for themselves. How many times during the holiday season did you see "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" instead of "Merry Christmas"? Times are changing and it's all because we are afraid of hurting someone's feelings by mentioning our religious beliefs. Our Purpose Speak Out For Jesus is a not-for-profit inter-denominational organization. We are not sponsored by any church denomination or group. Anyone who is a Christian or would like to be a Christian or just wants to stand up for Christianity in the United States is welcome to use our site for their resources. Our goal is to create an entertaining, enlightening and spiritually uplifting experience for the all-in-one convenience to Christians across America and beyond. Speak Out For Jesus focuses on providing news, services and other resources, to enrich, encourage and help users live godly lives based on Biblical perspectives, as well as maintain and promote in our national life the Christian principles of civil government. Read the Bible online, read our studies, search through our denomination area and/or the church directory, browse through our graphic library and more! As I have been told by more than one person, you could spend an entire week on this site and not finish reading it! There is so much to do! Your Mission We have provided a place for you to SPEAK OUT FOR JESUS! If you are upset with television shows, advertising, movies, music, games - visit our Review Center and let your comments be heard. Still think that isn't enough - contact the National News Media or your local newspapers, radio stations, TV stations and more at our Media Center. If that still isn't enough, you can contact your legislators through our Legislative Center. We also have provided petitions in our Petition Center to be either signed online or printed and passed around your communities (just mail them to us when they are complete and we will handle the rest!) We have also provided you with a News Center with up-to-date news in the Christian Community and news from the ACLU pertaining to Christian issues. We also have provided links to major proponents of the Christian effort for you to contact as well as links to opponents of the Christian effort in the United States.
